Meet Josh
About Me:
My wife and I moved to Southern Lehigh School District three years ago with our daughter to make sure she had the best education in the Lehigh Valley. We believe that Southern Lehigh School District is dedicated to ensuring that students receive top tier education, vital community resources and opportunities in sports and the arts. I am committed to the students, faculty/staff and the community members of Southern Lehigh School District.
I have chosen to run for school board to work with the community so that Southern Lehigh School District continues to have the resources for every child to have a high quality education that prepares them in the best way possible for whatever their future holds. Both my wife and I attended public school, and my wife was a public school teacher for over ten year prior to working in the non-profit sector with individuals with disabilities. Our daughter, Harper, attended Hopewell Elementary School and is currently at Liberty Bell Elementary School. Our family has a commitment to public school education and know that Southern Lehigh is top tier in the Lehigh Valley and the state.
Background:
I have been in business development for the steel industry for the past twenty years. Over the course of my career, I have had to manage not only the sales of steel, but work with contractors, look at the best values, managing customers and working with vendors. It is important to have excellent working relationships with people. It’s this attention to detail, from both a scheduling & finance perspective, that I will bring with me to my position as school board director.
Even prior to having our daughter, I was involved in assisting in public education with my wife. While she was teaching, I would help do classroom presentations, chaperone events, and participate in fundraisers. When my daughter entered Hopewell, my wife became a member of the PTA and I helped fundraise by working with community members to secure donations for events. My wife is currently the PTA Treasurer at Liberty Bell Elementary and I continue to assist her as needed and provide my support to the students in any way that I can. I believe that being involved in the school has given me a good insight as to what the Southern Lehigh community is looking for in a school board member. If elected I would work together with the other school board members and the community so that Southern Lehigh will remain one of the top tier schools in the state.
